ALOHA WELLNESS INN & LUANA INN

Hawaii Naturopathic Retreat Center is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. The climate is tropical, with temperatures in the upper 70′s to 80′s year-round.

We have two accommodation options depending on the type of program you are registered for. Our medical residential programs are offered at our Hilo location (Aloha Wellness Inn) while our special retreats and wellness programs take place at our Kealakekua bay location (Luana Inn). The nearest airport to Hilo is Hilo ITO, and to Kealakekua Bay it’s Kailua-Kona International airport.

The Aloha Wellness Inn is home to our medical residential programs: Lifestyle Change Program and Gerson Therapy & Alternative Cancer Treatment Program. It is located downtown Hilo and has both convenient access to city amenities and the wilderness. It is close to Hilo airport, Hilo hospital, beaches, quaint downtown shopping and Hilo farmer’s market.

This location is 45 minutes to Volcanos National Park with breathtaking views of flowing lava, smoking cinder cones and hiking trails. In addition, the center is about one hour away from the recent 2018 lava flow and the new black sand beach and thermal pool at Poihiki beach (Isaac Hale Park). We now do our Watsu sessions in this new natural pond.

It’s 1/2 hour from Akaka Falls and the beautiful, scenic byway along the Hamakau coast with access to the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is just ten minutes away from the Aloha Wellness Inn.

To reach Hapuna white sandy beach on the other side (west Hawaii) takes 1h30 travelling over scenic saddle road where you will go from sea level to 6,765 ft in 30 minutes. The Observatory and access to Mauna Loa mountain is off this road as well. Spending a half-day on this beach which has very easy entrance to the water and safe swimming is a magical way to end a week of treatment and therapy.

Weekends are for ecotherapy tours to these areas to explore the natural wonders of the Big Island.

Kealakekua Bay, South-Kona

The Luana Inn is home to our healthy vacations, wellness detox programs, fasting programs and special scheduled retreat programs. The inn is located south of Kona in Captain Cook on the foothills of Mauna Loa mountain facing Kealakekua Bay. The property is about three hundred feet above sea level, and offers a panoramic ocean and sky view, with green mountains rising gently behind it. Magical moon rises and sunsets can be enjoyed from here.

The location has easy access to swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and hiking trails. Kealakekua Bay and adjacent Honaunau Bay are home to Hawaii spinner dolphins, and it is not unusual to find yourself sharing these bays with dolphins in the morning hours.

Captain Cook is a cherished, tranquil part of South-Kona that has a perfect microclimate with abundant sun and gentle Kona breezes. It has the state’s most pristine snorkeling water – Captain Cook Monument and Two Step are located here. Two lovely beaches Manini and Ke’ei beaches are within walking distance and the historic Hawaiian site Pu’uhonua O’ Honaunau is close by.

Amenties include a chlorine-free pool, infrared sauna, private en-suite bathrooms, a large breezy yoga and meditation room with ocean views.
