Psychology and meditation lead to the soul

After I finished my studies in Paris, I explored marketing research for a few years but was quickly drawn to non-Freudian clinical psychology while my vision for a better world was leading me to the Bay Area in the United States. There, I underwent personal psychotherapy with Dr. Jackson.

I became very passionate about Reichian Therapy and decided to undergo training in Reichian Therapy with Phil Curcurudo. After a few years I became aware of the limitations of psychology and engaged in a spiritual journey. I traveled to India, practiced meditation, and incorporated my spiritual awakening into my work later on.

Discovery of holism

I had learnt in my psychotherapy practice that the body and the mind were closely related. For instance, I witnessed recoveries from chronic colitis and asthma in the course of psychotherapy. This revelation of the oneness of body, spirit and mind lead me to study medicine, to be able to approach healing on the physical plane as well.

The power of nutrition and fasting in detoxification

On the other hand, I was personally interested in water fasting since my 20’s and was conducting fasts on my own about every year for longer and longer periods of time. In my forties, while I was suffering of painful arthritis in my neck for several years, I undertook a10-day water fast just for a regular cleanse. To my surprise, on the 10th day I suffered from fever and shivering for a couple of hours but the pain disappeared. I spent the next months studying and researching fasting, mostly from Dr. Herbert Shelton’s books and understood that I had a healing crisis. I wanted to practice fasting to help recovery from diseases and found out that I needed to obtain a medical degree. It took me back to school in my late fifties.

Learning water fasting and Gerson Therapy

After I obtained my medical degree I completed an internship in fasting in Australia with Dr. Alec Burton. During my internship I became aware that I wanted to find a different approach for cancer patients and researched a possible nutritional program. Dr. Max Gerson’s theory of detoxification was close to my philosophy and I decided to get some training in this procedure, in order to incorporate the Gerson therapy in my fasting practice.

Detoxification is the first step, it needs to be followed by lifestyle changes

After conducting fasting and Gerson therapy programs for several years, it became clear to me, that detoxification is only the first step in a process that must include lifestyle modifications and nutritional changes. Education and psychotherapy appeared essential to prevent the return of old habits and the cycle of purging and indulging. To find balance, self-knowledge and education are key. At this time, I believe that lifestyle and nutritional changes are essential to prevent and cure chronic illness. I continue using water fasting in my programs especially for gastro intestinal tract conditions, but I have escaped the rigid teachings of the Sheltonian hygienist school to incorporate the water fasting procedure in a larger perspective that includes juice fasting and raw food. In regards to the Gerson therapy I came to an understanding that it was necessary to use more than one approach to conquer cancer. I offer High Dose Vitamin C, Iscador, hyperthermia and naturopathic treatments when indicated. I believe that religion should stay out of medicine, but I believe that medicine should incorporate the soul and the spirit.
